I remember the day that I graduated very clearly, surrounded by my classmates, professors, family and friends. As classmates we had spent at least 2 years together, laughing, crying, studying, learning, thinking, planning, dreaming. We all had our own ideas of what our profession would hold for us. We were all passionate about what we were going to accomplish, the lives we would touch, the differences that we would make.
Fast forward more than 6 years and I have again discovered that passion, the idea that I can make a difference, the knowledge that I will touch lives. It saddens me that, for a time, that passion was buried. Buried under the complacency of no longer studying day in and day out. Buried under stressful working environments that focus less and less on the value of care and individual treatment, and focus more and more on the money coming in. Buried under family and life in general. I am excited to say that I have that passion back, it is alive and well and...
Christie and Jasmin are so stoked to share our first DADgienist interview with Andrew Johnston, RDH. Andrew is an amazing hygienist, Dad, and co-host of A Tale of Two Hygienists podcast.
You will be blown away by all that Andrew has accomplished within the profession of dental hygiene. What stands out as his biggest accomplishment is his beautiful wife Allison and three children. This conversation got REAL quick as Andrew shared his fears and joys of being a parent. There is more in common with MOMgienists and DADgienists than one would think.
Let's support our DADgienists for all they do!
Shout out to Allison, Andrew's smoking hot wife who holds the fort down! We APPRECIATE you!!

Think Beyond the Prophy is kick starting 2017 with Shavonne Healy, RDH, BSDH!
I first met her at the ADHA CLL 2015 in Nashville where we both attended a focus group. We shared our opinions on latest research and how we could personally uplift our profession.
Fast forward to the Fall of 2015, I invited her to speak as a panelist for a panel discussion I organized for first and second year students. I was instantly blown away by the fire that resides in her. At that time, I was unsure on where I was going to take my career and what contribution I could make in our field. Shavonne's empowering motivational presentation awoke me! She has a gift of speech and is a talented writer.
Get to know this mover and shaker! You will be inspired as much as I am. Would you like to meet her in person? She will be a panelist at the Think Beyond the Prophy: Redefining Your Career educational event. Click HERE to find out more information and register! Seats are limited!

The last few months have been challenging and rewarding at the same time. I haven't been as vocal as I would like to be. It's in those moments of quiet that you can find the most clarity. It's a transitional period in my life. I am looking forward to all that 2017 will have to offer.
Each month, I am blessed with 100-300 new visitors to my website. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I wouldn't be here without the support of all of you!
What's new for me?
